Rumble stepped down the wooden ramp. His big foot landed on green grass with a soft crunch. He froze and let out a quiet hoooomph of wonder.
Rumble marched toward a patch of yellow flowers. He blew on them. He stomped. He even tried to pull one. But the world wouldn't play back.
Rumble sat down hard and dragged his trunk through the wet dirt. Then he heard it — a tiny scratch-scratch sound, like something small trying to get out.
Rumble leaned close. A green sprout pushed upward from the dirt and unfurled two tiny leaves right in front of his trunk.
He gasped. The sprout shivered in the warm sunlight.
Rumble rested his trunk beside the sprout and curled his toes into the soft green earth.
The mist lifted. The sun glowed gold. The quiet world began to breathe again.
Rumble watched the sprout in the growing light. Everything around him felt new again.
A tiny leaf twitched. Then another sprout pushed up nearby. Rumble smiled.
The world was quiet again, but this time it was a good quiet. Rumble sat with the sprout and waited for tomorrow.
