Sammy the little star tiptoed across a soft cloud shelf. A smooth pebble wiggled — roll, bump — and whispered a tiny S against the sky. Sammy leaned in. The pebble settled into the dust.
The sky was quiet. Only the soft hush of passing comets and the silver dust of meteor trails filled the dark.
Behind the comet trail, Sammy found another stone. It hummed the same S-sound. Then a third — hissing Ssss — slid down from a meteor tail. Then fourth, fifth, sixth. Seven stones glowed in a row.
Sammy pushed the stones in a line. They scattered. Sammy piled them high. They tumbled. Sammy arranged them in a circle. They spun — and settled into a new shape. Sammy gasped.
Sammy tried again. Line, pile, circle — nothing stayed. What shape did the stones want? Sammy thought, curious.
The stones rose. They clicked, hummed, and locked together. A glittering S-shape floated above the sleepy town.
The S glowed gold. Then soft silver. It pulsed once — like a heartbeat. The sky held its breath.
Sammy smiled. A trembling fingertip traced the smooth curve of the letter. The S hung there, patient and bright.
