Jack's phone buzzed on the table. A message lit up the screen. "Hello, Jack," it read. "It's from someone you've never met."
Jack picked up the phone. His eyes grew wide. He didn't know who sent this message — but he had to reply.
The screen lit up with a new message — and a photo appeared. A woman smiled back at him. Jack grinned. He touched the screen gently.
Another buzz. "Come see me!" Jack grabbed his bag. He hurried out the door and down the street.
He walked past familiar shops and quiet streets. Something unfamiliar stirred inside him. What if she was real?
At the end of the street, he saw her. She stood there — waiting. He walked toward her slowly.
He reached her. She reached for his hand. Jack squeezed it tightly. Together they walked to the little church at the end of the road.
They stood together at the altar. Jack's voice trembled as he spoke his vows. The woman held his hands and smiled through happy tears.
That evening, Jack stood alone in the quiet hallway of his new home. The door to his life waited on the other side.
Jack turned the knob and pushed the door open. Chaos poured out — six small children tumbled down the stairs and raced through the hallway. Jack froze.
They surrounded him — climbing, grabbing, pulling at his arms. Jack dropped to his knees without thinking.
He wrapped his arms around all of them — the biggest hug ever. Jack closed his eyes and thought: this was the family he never knew he wanted.
