Snow White skipped into the bright clearing. She tripped over a root and her wooden clog flew off.
Her shoe landed with a loud thwack on a sleeping badger’s nose. The badger’s eyes snapped open wide.
She held her breath as the badger blinked slowly in the warm sun. The moment felt very still.
Snow White gently picked up the muddy clog. She wiped it clean with a soft moss pad she found nearby.
She placed the clean shoe neatly beside the badger. He sniffed the leather and wiggled his toes happily.
Suddenly, an acorn dropped from above. It bounced right onto Snow White’s head with a tiny tap.
She caught another falling nut mid-air before it could bounce away. She grinned at the mischievous squirrel.
Snow White shared half her apple slice with the badger. They sat together in the grass, chewing happily.
