Sofi squeezes the last drop of gold glitter into her pot. It fizzes and pops like tiny fireworks. She holds it up. "Sofielle," she whispers.
Sofi dips the brush. She paints a stripe on her cheek. It drips down like silver rain. "Too shiny," she says, giggling.
Sofi dips the brush again. She paints her nose. It tickles. She sneezes — a pink puff explodes onto her shelf. "Oh!" she gasps.
Sofi opens a new jar of clear gloss. A blob bounces out like a jellybean. It hops across the floor. "Come back!" she whispers.
Sofi tiptoes after the blob. It bounces under her bed. She peeks inside. Her eyes go wide.
The gloss blob hops out and lands right on Sofi's cheek. It stays, sparkling perfectly. She touches it gently.
She looks in the mirror. The gloss shine matches the silver stripe. She smiles big and turns to her shelf of jars.
Sofi arranges her jars in a neat row. She picks the best one and holds it out. "For my best friend," she whispers.
