Sonic stomped across the backyard grass. In front of him, a golden ring hummed like a busy bee.
Abee Knuckles and Tails mom ran over and held his hands. Together they stepped right through the ring.
They landed on a mossy hill. Waterfalls sang in the distance and tall palm trees swayed in the breeze.
Sonic ran to the nearest ring and jumped through. It opened to a cave with glittering crystal walls.
Sonic's dad picked a glowing blue flower. Sonic's mom spun until she giggled and fell onto the soft moss.
Sonic tried a ring. It only opened to a pile of crunchy leaves. He huffed.
Sonic stomped his foot. The ring shivered and opened to a hilltop overlooking the whole magical world.
Abee Knuckles lifted Sonic up. Tails mom snapped a picture with her shell-camera.
They found the last ring. Sonic held it up and it opened to their own backyard.
They walked back through together. Rings glowed around their shoes as they went.
They tumbled onto the familiar grass together. The rings faded behind them with a soft hum.
Sonic looked up at the sky. Tomorrow, he could't wait to find more rings.
