Teddy sits up. The pillow is bare. No hat.
Two wet noses press his face. June barks, "Ruff!"
Marley sniffs the ground. A pink speck of confetti!
Confetti flutters in the tall flowers. Pink, gold, blue.
The trail points to the big oak tree. Teddy looks up.
His striped hat spins round and round in the wind.
Squish! The hat tumbles down. Bonk! He wobbles.
Teddy tucks the hat back on. The birthday song sings out.
