Milo grabs a spoon and races toward the kitchen. “Thank you, Mom, for cooking!” he calls.
A pancake flips up and lands on Milo’s head. Mom laughs, and Milo carries it carefully to the table.
Milo stacks fruit beside the pancake and thanks Mom again. A blueberry rolls across the table and bumps a cup.
Water splashes onto Milo’s napkin. He wipes the table and keeps smiling as breakfast continues.
After breakfast, Milo runs onto the sunny soccer field with Dad. He kicks the ball hard.
The ball flies past Dad, over a bench, and into a bright flower bed. “Thank you, Dad, for playing!” Milo calls.
Milo and Dad search between the flowers and under the bench. Then the ball pops from a bush and bounces onto Milo’s head.
Milo catches the ball, bows to it, and laughs with Dad. The ball seems ready to play again.
Milo passes the ball to Dad, and Dad passes it back. Tap, tap! Their game continues across the field.
At home, Milo helps Mom set out the food. “Thank you, Mom. Thank you, Dad,” he says.
The family eats together. By the door, the soccer ball waits quietly for tomorrow’s game.
Outside, the field shines beneath the fading sky. Inside, plates clink, voices mingle, and the soccer ball waits by the door.
