Mia hops before the mirror and waves. The cozy room answers with a soft tap on the glass.
The reflection waves back. “Who is that?” Mia asks, leaning toward the shining glass.
Mia points at the glass. “That’s me!” she says, then pulls a wonderfully silly face.
The reflection makes the same face. Mia freezes for one tiny second, then grins at the perfect copy.
Mia pats her hair and watches it bounce. She wiggles her nose, and the reflection wiggles too.
Mia opens and closes her mouth. The mirror copies every move—tap, wiggle, snap!
Mia giggles, and the floorboard squeaks. “Eep!” She takes one careful step backward.
Bump! Mia lands on the round pillow with a soft plop. The mirror stays right where she left it.
Mia pops up and checks the mirror again. Her hair, nose, and mouth are all still there.
Mia stands tall before the mirror and beams. “That’s me!” she says, giving one big wave.
