Little Ms. Fox lies in the tall grass. A bright star twinkles above the meadow. She points at it.
She stands on her hind legs and stretches her paws as far as they go. The star stays just out of reach.
Little Ms. Fox climbs up a wildflower patch and stands on the biggest bloom, reaching higher still. A pink petal falls and lands on her head like a tiny hat.
Little Ms. Fox reaches the tallest tree at the meadow's edge and perches on a low branch, her tail twitching with effort. The star glints away from her paw.
She hears the sparkling stream calling from below and follows it to a bend where the water glows.
The star has fallen right into the water and floats there, shimmering. A small frog hops onto the star's light like it is a lily pad.
She scoops the glowing star into her paws. It feels warm and hums like a tiny purr.
She holds it close and whispers, "I got you." The star's light wraps around her like a blanket and she smiles.
The star hums softly in her paws. A new friend has come to stay.
High above, another star begins to twinkle — just for her.
