Finnegan Clue ran through the Oakhaven market square. Then he stopped and gasped. The Star of Oakhaven was gone.
He slammed his hand on his pocket notebook. "Everyone, we need to find it before the festival!"
Finnegan Clue led his four friends through the cobblestone streets. The locksmith's apprentice checked the museum door and found a scratch.
The pigeon trainer listened for cooing near the clocktower. The tech girl scanned the ground with her device. The retired detective pointed and said, "Look up."
They climbed the old clocktower. The retired detective tapped a loose brick and a secret passage swung open. "This is it!" Finnegan Clue whispered.
Inside the dark passage, Finnegan Clue's friends held up their tools. A flashlight, a warm lantern, and a shiny badge lit the way.
Right there on a stone shelf: the Star of Oakhaven, glowing blue. Finnegan Clue reached out and grabbed the gem. "We did it!" his friends cheered.
Finnegan Clue placed the Star of Oakhaven back in the museum case just as the town bell began to ring.
