A chestnut dropped from the autumn tree. Bonk! It landed on Rustle’s head.
Rustle looked up. A crow flapped on a branch while a mouse peeked out, giggling.
The crow lifted another chestnut. Rustle thought, “Here it comes!”
Rustle and the sun watched the crow tiptoe along the branch. Rustle slipped beneath a red leaf.
Plop! The chestnut landed on the leaf, then bounced onto Rustle’s paw. “Caught you!”
The crow cawed. Then chestnuts began to fall. Plop, plop, plop!
Rustle batted the chestnuts away. Golden spots danced across the grass.
The mouse laughed so hard that a leaf landed on its head like a hat.
Rustle rolled a chestnut toward the crow. The crow swooped down and rolled it back.
The mouse nudged another chestnut with its nose. Soon, all three chased chestnuts through the leaves.
A final chestnut flew high. It landed on the sun’s bright beam.
The chestnut rolled down like a tiny golden slide. Rustle, the crow, and the mouse tumbled into one leaf pile.
Leaves puffed into the air. Laughter rang beneath the shining autumn tree.
The sun warmed their playful game. Another leaf drifted down.
