Pip the hedgehog trotted to Woodland Way. Two paths fanned out beneath an old oak tree.
A cheerful badger waited by the signs. 'Which way will you go?' he asked.
Pip pointed at the berry sign and grinned. Bramble hopped onto the mushroom path.
Pip waddled along the sunny path. Bushes overflowed with plump purple berries.
A bumblebee hummed a wiggly tune. Pip popped a berry — sweet juice ran down their chin.
A tiny wooden sign appeared: BERRY TEA HOUSE, just ahead.
A badger filled a thimble-cup with golden tea. Outside, the sky blushed pink.
Pip sipped slowly and hurried back toward the old oak.
Back at the crossroads, Bramble uncurled a large mushroom cap. Glistening silver acorns spilled out.
'Look what I found!' Bramble chirped. The silver acorns glittered all over the grass.
They sat together under the oak as the sun painted the woodland gold.
Bramble offered a silver acorn. Pip offered a dried berry. They nibbled as fireflies blinked above.
