Layla found a glowing book on the floor. She opened it — and out tumbled nine colorful letters!
"We're your new friends!" they sang in a wobbly chorus. They formed a circle around Layla.
The letters lined up for a shape game. He rolled! He bounced! He stretched tall like a tower!
Layla traced each one in the air. Her tongue poked out. She was concentrating very hard.
Two letters stood side by side — just like twins! Another pair did a headstand together.
Two more gave each other a high-five — but their dots kept sliding to the wrong heads!
The letters danced a silly jig. WHOOSH! All the dots flew off and scattered everywhere!
One letter hopped after his dot. Another chased his. Layla scrambled to help!
Layla picked up dots and placed them on the right heads. One by one, they went home.
Every dot was home! The letters cheered and marched in a line, calling out each sound.
Layla read the sounds out loud. The library lights up with golden sparkles!
The letters waved. "Thank you, Layla!" The book glowed softly. Her new friends were here to stay.
