High above, the velvet sky was filled with twinkling stars. One small star named Luna flickered softly in her cozy corner. Below, a little boy named Leo tossed and turned in his bed.
Leo kicked his blanket off again and again. His pillow looked lonely and flat. Luna tilted her head. She knew what to do.
Luna slipped off her star-spots and rode a thin beam of moonlight down to Leo's window. The glass was warm from the day's sun.
She pressed her tiny hands against the glass and waited. Leo's breathing was fast and shallow, his eyes squeezed shut.
Luna tapped on the windowpane. Tap, tap, tap. Leo's eyes fluttered open. He saw a tiny golden light hovering above his bed.
"Are you a firefly?" he whispered. Luna giggled — a sound like wind chimes. She reached into her star-sack and pulled out a pinch of sleepy moon-dust.
It sparkled like sugar as she sprinkled it over Leo's pillow. The dust smelled like warm milk and lavender. Leo's eyes grew heavy.
He sank into his pillow with a soft sigh. "Thank you, little star," he murmured, already half-asleep.
Luna climbed back up her moonbeam, leaving Leo curled up and dreaming. She settled into her corner among the other stars.
She watched over all the sleeping children below, her gentle golden light flickering softly among her star friends.
