Oliver Thompson dug in his backyard. He dug and dug until his shovel hit something hard.
He pulled out a wooden box. The lid creaked open. Something slid out — a piece of paper.
Oliver unrolled the paper. It was a map! A bright red X marked the spot.
He followed the path with his finger. From the oak tree... all the way to behind the fence.
Oliver climbed the fence. He tugged and pulled, but he could not reach the other side.
He kicked at the dirt. A clump landed right on his glasses. He slid down and pushed through the gap.
He crawled through the narrow space. He pushed aside a curtain of ivy. His eyes went wide.
A warm breeze carried the scent of flowers and sweet grass. What was this place?
Oliver stepped into the garden. Flowers of every color surrounded him. Butterflies danced in the air.
He spun around, laughing. "Wow," he whispered. "This is my secret."
He picked a blue petal from a tall flower. He held it up to the sunlight.
Oliver smiled. He had found the most wonderful place in the whole world.
