Leo stepped up onto the first rainbow book. It crinkled under his feet.
A tiny paper bird flapped off the step and circled his head. "Hey!" said Leo.
He grabbed the next book and pulled himself up. His sneakers slipped on the blue cover.
The blue book boomed like a drum. Boom! He jumped back, then stomped again.
Boom, boom — and the clouds wiggled. Leo giggled and kept climbing.
The red book whistled. The green one burped a puff of star confetti. "Wheee!" said Leo.
The yellow book played a tiny trumpet fanfare. Leo climbed faster, grinning.
He opened the glowing book at the top. Stars and planets tumbled out and swirled around him.
He reached out and caught a spinning planet in his palm. It hummed softly.
Leo sat on a cloud with the glowing book open. The paper bird landed on the page. He turned it and smiled.
