Aina pushes the heavy bookshelf aside. Behind it, a tiny door glows from its keyhole. She crouches and traces the edge.
She tries a plastic spoon. It doesn't fit. She tries a button. It doesn't fit. She tries a dried leaf. It doesn't fit.
She pulls a thick book from the shelf. Words shimmer and float into the air. They swirl around the keyhole and click with a loud TICK.
The door swings open. Aina steps inside and gasps. Birds made of letters fly past her ears.
A river of ink flows over a bridge of pages. A paper dragon peeks over the shelf and hiccups a small flame.
Aina reads a line from a book. The dragon grows wings and zooms around her head. She reads another line.
The ink river turns into chocolate. Aina grins and reads and reads.
The whole world comes alive around her.
