Sunlight filled the playroom. Milo and his best friend pulled the same red rolling toy. Snap!
The toy broke between them. “You did it!” Milo shouted, and the bright room went quiet.
Milo grabbed both pieces and stomped to the sunny kitchen. His friend stayed by the rug without a word.
Milo fitted the pieces together. Click, click. They popped apart again.
Milo stacked the pieces into a tower. It wobbled, then crashed with a clatter.
Milo glanced toward his friend. Then he tucked the pieces under a cushion as afternoon light faded.
Milo carried one piece back. “I’m sorry I shouted,” he said, holding it out.
His friend added the other piece. Together, they taped the toy tight.
Suddenly, the repaired toy rolled across the floor by itself. “Whoa!”
Milo and his friend chased it, laughing. The toy bumped the sunny wall with a gentle bonk.
Milo handed the toy over. They played side by side, stopping whenever it rattled. Click, tape, roll!
The toy rattled again. Milo and his friend fixed it together, then sent it rolling into the sunlit room.
