Elara stepped outside in a light sundress. Snowflakes swirled around her ankles like tiny dancers.
Suddenly she sneezed. A single snowflake landed perfectly on the tip of her nose.
She tried to run home, but her legs felt heavy. The wind pushed back hard.
Cold air tickled her throat. She coughed softly into her sleeve, shivering all over.
Back inside, Elara rubbed her arms until they turned bright pink. Another sneeze sent dust dancing.
She collapsed onto the rug near the hearth. Three thick wool blankets wrapped around her.
The fire popped loudly. Warmth reached her toes as she closed her eyes tight.
Elara slept deeply while flames danced gently above the logs. Her breathing was steady and calm.
