Under the shady tree, a little teddy bear sat alone. “Are you lost?” Sam asked.
The bear nodded. A leaf fluttered onto its soft ear, and Sam reached for its paw.
Tiny paw prints led along the winding garden path. Sam followed close behind the bear.
The prints vanished beneath tall flowers. Sam parted the blossoms as bees buzzed nearby.
They searched by the daisies, behind a watering can, and beside a red flowerpot. Plop! The bear tumbled headfirst inside.
Sam pulled the bear out. Fresh paw prints appeared on the dark soil.
The prints ended at a little gate hidden under vines. The bear pushed, but it only squeaked.
Sam lifted the latch. The gate swung open with a creaky “sproing!”
Beyond the gate stood a tiny teddy bear house. The bear hurried toward the little front door.
The bear’s family rushed outside with grateful hugs. Sam smiled as the little bear stayed safely at home.
