Toby the little sheep stepped over a dandelion in the sunny meadow. Something bright red caught his eye.
It was a bright red cup, half-buried in the grass. Toby nudged it with his nose. It went clink.
He pushed the red cup with his head, but it would not move. He grabbed the handle in his teeth and tugged. Nothing.
Toby let go. He backed up and tried again, but the cup stayed stubbornly in place. He thought, Hmm. There must be a better way.
He found a long dry twig. With some effort, he tied it to the handle of the red cup. Then he pulled with all his might.
The red cup slid — then tipped and rolled. Clatter, clatter, clatter! Toby chased it across the meadow.
Toby caught the red cup at the edge of the meadow. He climbed inside and looked. Something glinted at the bottom.
He reached in with his mouth and pulled out a small gold button. He held it up to the sun. It sparkled.
Toby's ears shot straight up. He had never seen anything so shiny. He put the gold button back in the red cup.
Toby carried the red cup all the way home. The gold button rested safely inside as he trotted through the tall grass.
Toby set the red cup on the windowsill. The sunlight poured right into it, and the gold button glowed like a tiny star.
Toby lay down beside the red cup. He rested his chin on his paws and kept his treasure safe.
