Tony lies in a bed, eyes open. Rain drums on the window. Tap, tap, tap.
He presses his palm flat against the glass. "Natasha," he whispers. His voice is small.
Rain falls on their first date. Natasha takes his hand. They walk under a big black umbrella.
They splash through puddles together. Tony laughs. Natasha laughs. "This is the best rainy night," she says.
Another memory: Natasha pushes two little kids on a swing set. "Higher!" Kai shouts.
Tony claps from the bench. Natasha beams at him. "This family," she whispers.
Reality returns. Tony's eyelids grow heavy. The ambulance hums beneath him.
Rain taps the roof. Tap, tap, tap. Natasha holds his hand. Her fingers are warm.
"I'll always carry your love with me," Natasha whispers.
She presses a kiss to his forehead. Tony smiles.
The rain slows to a gentle hush. Tony's breathing evens out.
Tap... tap... tap. Then silence.
