Tyson watched the other kids from the edge of the swings.
A girl walked up with a giant bubble wand and blew a cluster of bubbles toward him. "Want to try?" she asked.
Tyson stepped back as the bubbles popped against his sneakers, leaving wet spots.
Elea patted the bench beside her. Tyson climbed up slowly.
She showed him how to take a big breath. Tyson puffed his cheeks and blew — a stream of silver bubbles floated toward the slide.
They giggled and chased them. One bubble the size of a beach ball bounced off the swing set with a soft boing.
Tyson grabbed Elea's hand and pulled her toward the swings. They swung up, reaching for the glittering bubbles. One landed on his nose, wiggled, and popped with a tiny fizz. He laughed out loud.
The sun painted the playground orange and pink. Tyson sat on the swing, holding the empty bubble bottle. "Can we come back tomorrow?" "Every day," Elea said. Tyson watched the last bubble float toward the sky.
