Viya stands at the mossy edge. Toes dangle over the sparkling stream. She pulls a crumpled dandelion from her pocket.
Footsteps crunch behind her. Princess Raya steps into view. 'Come with me,' she says, offering her hand.
They walk into the forest. Butterflies hum like tiny bells. A fallen log blocks the narrow creek ahead.
Raya hops across easily. Viya pokes the log with a stick. It wobbles and splashes water on her shoes.
'Try the stepping stones,' Raya calls back. Viya frowns at her wet feet. She prepares to hop carefully.
One, two, three. Viya hops from stone to stone. On the fourth stone, a frog hops on and off again.
Splash! The frog jumps away, splashing her ankles. Viya giggles and hops faster, nearly tripping on the next rock.
She lands safely on the other side. Raya reaches out and pulls her the last step forward. Both smile.
They reach a clearing where fireflies swirl in golden clouds. Blue flowers glow softly beneath them.
Viya crouches down. One firefly lands on her finger, warm and buzzing. She looks up at Raya.
