Leo walked into the lodge with his dad. The walls were warm wood, and soft evening light streamed in.
Leo looked up at the tall ceiling and the shiny medals on the wall. 'Wow,' he whispered.
'What do you build here?' Leo asked, tugging his dad's sleeve. His dad knelt down. 'Friendships,' he said. Leo glanced at a man sitting quietly in the corner.
Leo walked over to the man. He stood right in front of him and waved both hands in the air.
'Hi!' Leo said loudly, but the man didn't look up from his book. Leo dropped his hand and stood there. The floorboards creaked softly under his feet.
Leo pulled his drawing from his pocket and held it up toward the man. The man looked down. His eyes went wide, and a big smile spread across his face. 'That's beautiful,' he said.
Leo felt his chest puff out with pride. His dad watched from across the room.
Leo walked back to his dad, holding his drawing tight. The man called out, 'Keep drawing, young man!'
