In the cozy living room, Wizzy tapped the WhatsApp icon on the tablet. The welcome screen appeared, bright and patient, asking for a phone number. Wizzy paused beside a quilt-covered sofa and thought, “This is a grown-up step. I should ask first.”
Wizzy fetched a trusted family member from the kitchen. Together, they sat at the table and began the setup with permission. Ding! The bright chime sounded, and Wizzy leaned closer while the adult read each step carefully.
Wizzy entered the phone number, then typed the verification code when it arrived. Next came a private profile name and a simple picture—nothing extra. A tiny green checkmark appeared. Wizzy said, “I know what I am sharing,” and opened the family chat.
The family chat welcomed Wizzy with a row of green bubbles. Wizzy typed a cheerful message, attached a photo of a warm mug, and pressed the voice-note button. “Hello!” chirped the recording. When playback answered with a squeaky robot echo, Wizzy laughed at the tiny electronic voice.
Wizzy tried the sticker button. A bright sticker seemed to dance across the screen, twirling beside a row of silly faces. Wizzy tapped another and watched it bounce into the chat. “Again!” came the delighted request from the family chat, and the tablet answered with cheerful pops.
Wizzy tapped the video-call button for family. Before waiting, Wizzy checked the camera view: only a tidy corner, a cushion, and a little lamp appeared. Then the call connected. Suddenly, a giant close-up of a nose filled the screen! Wizzy quickly pressed the red end button.
Wizzy called the trusted family member back to the table. Together, they opened the privacy settings and checked the camera preview, microphone, and call controls. The adult pointed to the tidy-corner view. Wizzy nodded, then pressed the video-call button once more.
This time, the family call opened clearly. Wizzy sent a cheerful sticker, then waved from the cozy room. On the tablet, family members waved back from a friendly everyday place, with a kitchen clock and sunny window behind them. Ding! The chat chimed with the mug photo and “Hello!” voice note.
