On the village green, Woolsworth unrolled a bolt of rainbow wool. Every animal stopped and looked.
Woolsworth tried to spin it into yarn. Snap! The thread kept breaking. His hooves twisted in knots.
He tried again with a second bolt. This time he set up his wooden loom. Click-clack went the shuttle — right off the loom.
The pile of wool grew thicker and messier. Not a single straight thread in sight. Woolsworth huffed.
A gust of wind whooshed across the green. It swept the rainbow wool right out of Woolsworth's hooves.
The wind carried the wool all the way to the village square. It landed in a big, colorful heap.
The fox, the badger, and the rabbit wandered over. They peered at the colorful mess with curious eyes.
Woolsworth watched from the edge of the square. The fox picked up one end, the badger another.
The rabbit wound a third end. Together they spun and twisted until the wool came together — smooth and bright.
A long shimmering scarf stretched across the square. Woolsworth smiled. The village hummed with happy chatter.
