Zahir plugs the final cable into the wall with a sharp click. The smell of warm plastic fills the air. He steps back to admire the row of blank screens. His hands hover in anticipation. The room feels ready, but something is missing.
He presses the power button on the first desktop; nothing happens. Zahir frowns and checks the socket. He tries the second computer, which hums loudly before going dark. A loose mouse wire trails across the floor like a sleepy snake.
Zahir grabs his toolkit and kneels by the third station. He tightens a screw that had come loose during cleaning. The monitor flickers to life with a cheerful chime, displaying a bright blue screen. He moves down the line, fixing one glitch after another.
Until all ten computers glow green. Zahir stands up straight, wiping dust from his knees. He surveys the row of working machines. Each screen displays a uniform desktop background. The room now feels complete and alive.
Suddenly, the main server light turns red and emits a low, warning buzz. Zahir freezes, his finger hovering over the reboot switch. The sound grows louder. He takes a deep breath and carefully types a secret code he memorized from the manual.
He holds his breath as the buzzer peaks. Then, silence. The lights blink once, twice. A moment of stillness hangs in the air. Zahir waits for the system to respond to his command.
Then burst into a cascade of colorful confetti projected onto the white walls. Digital streamers swirl around the clean desks. The young boy smiles, watching the digital celebration dance. It is a perfect display of technology and joy.
Zahir smiles, watching the digital celebration dance around the clean desks. He knows everything is perfectly prepared for his guests. The lab is ready. The party can begin.
