Zip presses his nose against the window. A yellow bus rumbles down the street. He bolts out the door to chase it.
The bus turns the corner. Zip skids to a stop, panting. "I'll catch you next time," he thinks.
A train clacks along the rails. Zip sprints toward the crossing. He reaches the platform just in time.
The train whooshes past, wind whipping his hair. Zip waves at the empty tracks. "Maybe next time," he thinks.
Zip runs faster now. He waves at the ferry captain, who waves back and honks the horn. "Look ahead!" Zip points.
Zip reaches the airport fence. A giant airplane ROARS down the runway. It lifts into the sky.
Zip's cap flies off his head. His mouth hangs wide open. The plane becomes a tiny silver dot.
Zip sits on the grass and lets out a long breath. He pulls out his toy cars and rolls one across the floor. A quiet smile.
