Leo stood in the doorway. Mom and Dad carried a tiny car seat into the house.
Dad set the car seat on the rug. It made a soft click. Leo's hands curled into fists.
Leo marched to his room. He pulled his dinosaur blanket off the bed.
He dragged the blanket into the nursery and laid it next to the bassinet. The baby looked at him.
Leo picked up his red truck from the shelf. He held it out to the baby.
The baby wrapped her fingers around the wheel. Leo tugged the truck back. The baby made a squeaky honking sound.
Leo stormed back to his room and slammed the door. He sat on his bed and stared at the wall.
Outside, he heard Mom singing a soft lullaby to the baby.
Leo crept back to the nursery and peeked inside. The baby was awake, reaching her arms toward him.
Leo sat down on the rug. The baby's mouth opened and a wide grin spread across her face.
Leo picked up the red truck and pressed it gently into her tiny hand. She squeezed it and made a happy squeak.
The baby held the truck. Leo smiled.
