The dental office door swung open. Right beside a row of soft blue chairs, a fish tank went blub, blub, blub.
Pippa Pearl stopped at the door and gripped the strap of her little bag. "Do I have to?" she whispered.
Blub, blub, blub, went the tank. Pippa Pearl took one careful step inside.
Soon, Pippa Pearl climbed onto a soft chair and peeked into the exam room. Shiny tools sat in a row on a tray.
Then one little tool puffed a mist of water. Hissss!
Pippa Pearl blinked. Then she gave a surprised snort-laugh. The big light above the chair glowed like a moon.
Pippa Pearl opened wide for a quick peek. But then the chair rose with a quiet whirr.
"That chair moved!" said Pippa Pearl.
Pippa Pearl listened to the quiet hum and watched silver tails flick in the fish tank. When the room stayed calm and cozy, she tried again.
Pippa Pearl sat very still. "One, two, three," came a gentle voice, and a tiny mirror tapped each tooth.
A shiny cleaner buzzed near her mouth like a sleepy bee. Pippa Pearl squeezed her hooves together and held still.
"All done," said the gentle voice. Pippa Pearl opened one eye, then the other.
Pippa Pearl slid down from the chair with a clean, minty grin.
On the way out, she waved to the bubbling fish tank. She patted the soft chair and gave the shiny tools one more look.
