Zizzi buzzed past the house and saw a window open wide. In she darted before it could close. Clatter-clang! The kitchen rattled below, and she froze for one tiny moment in the bright smell of toast.

Then Zizzi dipped lower. She zipped over a stack of shiny spoons just as one slipped free and spun across the counter. Ting-ting-ting! With a startled buzz, she looped up toward the ceiling light.

Zizzi zoomed down to peek into a blue bowl. Whoosh! A puff of flour turned the air white around her. She cough-buzzed, landed on the rim, and blinked at the powder spread over the counter like snow.

Across the kitchen, Zizzi spotted a quiet windowsill. She headed for it fast, but a dish towel swooshed past. She dodged left, then right, then up, buzzing bravely as the towel flapped like a giant silly flag.

At last, Zizzi made one last dash and landed on the windowsill. CLANG! A pan boomed somewhere behind her and rattled the glass. She crouched low, then peeked out at the sky and whispered, “Buzz!”

Then Zizzi knew exactly what to do. She buzzed back out through the open window and circled once in the sunshine. The kitchen still clattered inside, but outside the air felt wide and fresh, and her happy hum floated on.
