Leo kicked at a pebble on the playground edge. The swings creaked. Laughter floated through the air.
He didn't move. Then he saw it — a bright chalk path winding across the pavement like a ribbon.
Leo picked up a piece of yellow chalk. He drew a sun — and it glowed warm on the ground.
A boy stopped and pointed. 'Look!' Leo kept drawing — a tree with hopping birds.
More kids gathered. Leo drew a castle — and a dragon that puffed blue smoke.
The dragon blinked. Its eyes followed Leo. A girl reached out — he held his breath.
The dragon puffed smoke. It tickled her nose. She sneezed — and everyone laughed.
'Draw more! Draw more!' the kids begged. Leo grinned and started a new picture.
He sketched a playground — with them in it. They jumped right into the scene.
They acted out the scenes — swinging, sliding, pretending. The sky turned gold.
One by one, the drawings came to life around them. Leo couldn't stop smiling.
The sun dipped below the trees. Leo sat surrounded by friends, chalk on his fingers, happy.
