Leo carried his favorite blanket into the new bedroom. The room was empty and quiet. He laid the blanket down and patted it flat.
The blanket felt soft and warm. Leo pulled it over his shoulder and sat down. This new room felt different.
Leo found a small photo frame on the windowsill. He held it to his ear and listened. Creak-squeak — just like Grandpa's rocking chair at home.
Leo spotted his toy car on the floor. He rolled it once — squeak! It sounded just like the garage door at his old house.
The rocking chair creaked and the car squeaked together. Leo's eyes went wide. He stacked the frame on the shelf and set the car beside it.
Leo climbed into bed and pulled the soft blanket up to his chin. He closed his eyes and listened to the quiet sounds filling the new room.
Morning light came through the window. Leo reached for his photo frame and his toy car. Everything had a place now.
The new bedroom was full of familiar things. Leo smiled and lay back down. This was his room now.
