Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture through Google Sign-In. When you create books, we store the story content, generated illustrations, and your preferences. We also collect basic usage analytics to improve our service.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and improve our services, generate AI illustrations for your books, manage your account, and communicate with you about updates. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Information Sharing
We share information only with service providers that help us operate Doodara (such as cloud hosting and AI generation services). When you publish a book publicly, the book content and your display name become visible to other users.
AI providers & uploaded photos
Doodara does not train its own models. Illustrations are generated by third-party providers: ByteDance Seedream 4.0 via AtlasCloud and Black Forest Labs FLUX.1 [schnell] on paid plans, and Agnes Image 2.1 Flash on the free plan and free tools. Story text is generated by OpenAI GPT-5.6 via OpenRouter, and by Agnes 2.0 Flash on the free plan. Your prompts, and any reference photo you upload, are sent to whichever provider is generating that image or text. When you upload a photo (for example to the anime character tool), it is re-encoded to remove hidden metadata such as location before it is sent. Free-tier providers may retain submitted content and use it to improve their models. Please upload only photos of your own child, and use a paid plan if you prefer your photos to be processed only by our primary provider.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with our platform. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and secure cloud storage. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
Your Data Rights
You can see, correct, export, and delete the personal data we hold about you, whatever country you live in. The account data we hold is your name, email address, and profile picture, taken from Google Sign-In when you signed up, together with the books you have made and the images generated for them. Your books, characters, and generated images are visible in your account, and you can delete any book yourself at any time, which removes that book and its pages from our systems. For anything else — correcting your name or email, deleting the stored image files for a book, exporting your data, or deleting your whole account — email hello@doodara.com from the address you signed up with. We action deletion requests within 30 days: your account, your books, and the generated image files are erased, and we keep only records we are legally required to retain, such as the payment and tax records held by our payment provider. An export is sent in a machine-readable format within the same 30 days. You may also object to or ask us to restrict a particular use of your data, and withdraw a consent you have given, without affecting what was done before you withdrew it. We never sell your personal data. If you are in the EU, the UK, or another region with equivalent law, these are your rights under that law (including GDPR Articles 15–21), and you may complain to your local data protection authority if you are unhappy with how we handled a request.
Children's Privacy
Doodara is designed for use by parents and educators creating content for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@doodara.com.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on our website or sending you an email.
