1. 1

   Ding-dong! Grandpa opens the door and spreads his arms out wide: "Your Child is here!" The house smells of warm cookies. And look — two matching checked shirts, one big, one small!

2. 2

   Grandpa's house is full of treasures: a ticking golden pocket watch, little sailing ships, and a thick old photo album. Tick-tock, sings the watch, soft and low. Where should two curious eyes look first?

   That little sailing ship is SO beautiful! Its white sails glow in the sunbeam, and tiny dust sparkles dance around it. Your Child's fingers itch and itch — oh, to grab it right now!

   Uh-oh! One eager reach, and the little ship wibbles and wobbles — it almost tips right off the shelf! Two small hands fly back. A heart goes thump, thump, thump.

   Grandpa's big warm hand gently steadies the little ship. He isn't cross at all — his eyes are smiling. "No rush, little one. Gentle hands — and ask first, okay?"

   "Grandpa, may I look at the little ship?" "Of course you may!" Grandpa sets it down low and tells a story of the wide, wide sea — with waves as tall as houses!

   The old album falls open with a soft flip-flip. "Who is THIS?" "That's Grandpa when he was young — a real sailor!" Your Child giggles and giggles, all the way down to the toes.

   Tea time! Just like Grandpa, Your Child holds the little cup with two careful hands. Whoo, whoo — a gentle blow, then one tiny sip. Mmm, warm all the way down.

   Then Grandpa places the golden watch right into Your Child's open hands. "I know you'll hold it gently," he says. It feels heavy and warm. Tick... tock... tick... tock...

10. 10

    Time to go home. Grandpa gives Your Child the biggest, warmest hug — and a tiny wooden boat. "This treasure is yours now." Your Child holds it gently, gently, all the way home.
