Every page, starring our demo kid — this role goes to your child.
This is Your Child's most favorite red toy car. "Beep beep!" It zooms all around the room — under the table, around the rug, past the basket of blocks. Vroom, vroom, vroooom!
"Ding-dong!" There goes the doorbell. A friend is here for a playdate! He waves a big hello from the doormat, smiling wide. But wait — what about the little red car?
"Mine!" Your Child hugs the little red car tight, tight, tight, and turns right away. The friend's reaching hand stops in the air. Nobody says anything at all.
Your Child plays alone in the corner, holding the car close. Push, push... push. But wait — how come it suddenly isn't fun anymore? Even "beep beep" sounds a little bit quiet.
Ooh! Over there, the friend has built a long, long block ramp! It swoops from the toy shelf all the way down to the rug. It looks... really, really fun.
Your Child scoots over, slowly, slowly, and gently holds out the car. "...You can have a turn. Want to take turns?" The friend's face lights up like a little sun.
"Three, two, one — GO!" The red car whooshes down the ramp and flies right into waiting hands. Hooray! Now THIS is a game one kid can't play alone!
A repair shop, a tunnel, a big block bridge... one new game after another! The little car beeps its way through them all, and the giggles just won't stop.
Snack break! The cracker gets split in half too — crunch, crunch. The red car gets its own parking spot right on the table. Everything tastes better when you share it.
Cleanup time! The blocks go home, and the red car rolls back to its special spot on the shelf. "Come play again soon!" says Your Child, waving and waving. "Playing together really is more fun!"
